For the 2015-2016 school year, we partnered with Girls Inc. of Alameda County and sponsored a weekly UrbanPlay class at their fitness facility. The girls tackled everything coaches threw at them and worked hard every Tuesday!

They lifted weights.

“The most challenging part of class was to pushing myself when I felt I couldn’t.” – Aliyah, 7th grade

They ran relays, obstacles and stairs.

They learned about fitness and nutrition.

“I learned to test my limits and accomplished more exercise this semester.” – Karent, 6th grade

They encouraged each other through the sweat and burn.

They got stronger as a team.

“I ran a 9:14 mile thanks to UrbanPlay.” – Montserrat, 7th grade

Most importantly…they laughed and had fun!

“Urban Play is AMAZING!!! We had the pleasure of partnering with Urban Play for our nonprofit after school program for the school year. Each and every Urban Play instructor was knowledgable, on-time, enthusiastic and encouraging to our students. Best of all, our students learned something new each lesson and had a lot of fun!”

– Alex Cowling, Fitness Leader, Girls Inc.
